the gentle bonaparte
The New Jersey State Museum has recently received a planning grant from the prestigious National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to mount an exhibit about Joseph Bonaparte, his home furnishings in Bordentown, and his remarkable art collection. Cultural historian James Turk from the NJ State Museum hopes to bring together objects and art work from museums around the world, as well as treasures from private collections throughout New Jersey, to explore Joseph Bonaparte's influence on the cultural and artistic life of early 19th century America.
