Sharon
Isbin is the most celebrated classical
guitarist of our time. She won the Grammy
last year for Best Classical Solo Album,
the first guitarist to win this category
in 28 years. Our story focuses on the Guitar
Concerto she has commissioned from composer
Christopher Rouse, inspired by the famous
Spanish architect, Gaudí. In it,
Spanish musical idioms are twisted and manipulated
in surreal ways evocative of Gaudí's
buildings. The Concerto also won a Grammy
last year for Best Classical Contemporary
Composition.

as they rehearse Dirt Road, an evening-long
