that examined the artistic ferment that took place
at Rutgers University. STATE OF THE ARTS interviews

June Paik is now considered the father of
video art. We look at his beginnings in the 1960s,
and at a seminal piece created by Paik in 1993
as part of the Art in Public Places Program administered
by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
