STATEWIDE – NJN News provides complete live coverage of Governor Chris Christie’s Budget Message to a joint session of the New Jersey State Legislature in Trenton on Tuesday, March 16 at 1 pm. NJN News Senior Anchor Jim Hooker hosts the program live from NJN’s Trenton Studios with Senior Political Correspondent Michael Aron and State House Correspondent Zachary Fink at the State House.  This special public affairs program will be simulcast on NJN Public Radio and web cast at njn.net.  The budget message will be rebroadcast on NJN Public Television at 10 pm. 

Governor Christie will present his plan for closing a state budget deficit estimated to be $11 billion for next fiscal year.  The Budget Message will be followed by the legislative response with Senator Paul Sarlo (Democratic Deputy Majority Leader), Senator Anthony Bucco (Republican Budget Officer), Assemblyman Louis Greenwald (Democratic Budget Chair) and Assemblyman Joseph Malone (Republican Budget Officer).

Republican political analyst Roger Bodman and Democratic political strategist Julie Roginsky will be in the studio with Jim Hooker.  At the State House, Michael Aron will be joined by Brigid Harrison, Montclair State University political scientist.
