Hispanic heritage month with Images/Imagenes on
NJN. Back for its 33 rd season, the program examines critical
issues of New Jersey 's Hispanic population. Images can
be seen on Thursdays at 6:30 pm and Sundays at 8 am , and is
web streamed and archived on the NJN web site at njn.net. Images can
be seen on cable stations throughout New Jersey , on NJN's
JerseyVision and on Time Warner Cable on channel 750 in New
York .
FLAMENCO: THE ESSENCE
OF DANCE & DRAMA

The passion of the Spanish gypsy flamenco comes to life in
a powerful musical production by the Alborada Spanish Dance
Theatre. Featured in the production are sensational dancers
Lisa Botalico, Chavela, Giselle Revollar, Ricki Santiago and
Peter Suarez. Presented by Teatro Si at Kean University , Flamenco demonstrates
dance and drama at its very best.
LA BOMBA

La Bomba tells
the story of the birth, history and tradition of Puerto Rico
's most famous rhythm. One of the western hemisphere's oldest
dance forms, la bomba comes to life in a television special
that features the number one family of dance, Los Cepedas,
and New Jersey 's very own dance troupe, Segunda Quimbamba.

life as dancers from all walks of life celebrate the essence
of cultural rhythms brought to the northeast by sons and daughters
of Caribbean ancestry. Join Images for a historic look
at Latin music and dance, featuring the Sounds of the City
outdoor festival held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center
in Newark .
MEXICAN ART, MUSIC & DANCE
IN NEW JERSEY

Uncover the beautiful work of masters in glass art; learn
about the history and traditions of the Day of the Dead; and
travel the Garden State to celebrate Mexican culture with mariachi
bands and colorful dancers who call New Jersey their home.
A video postcard from Oaxaca , Mexico , takes viewers on a
journey of discovery. Traditional foods, altars and games honor
the souls of beloved ancestors. And don't miss the best young
mariachi band in the nation. Students ages 12 to 17 travel
from Arizona to Morristown High School , New Jersey , to demonstrate
the uniqueness and historical charms of the mariachi. Finally,
be sure to have your dancing shoes ready as Images explores
the different dances of Mexico . This documentary is a must-see
for the entire family.
JAYRO ROSADO: RISING INTERNATIONAL STAR

As a winner of the teen vocal category in the 2000 NJN
Hispanic Youth Showcase, Jayro Rosado's career was just
beginning. In 2002, he became the first and only contestant
to win both the New Jersey and New York Apollo competitions.
In 2004, Jayro participated in the first Images/Imagenes'
Road to Stardom talent
competition, drawing votes and acclaim from all over the United
States and the Caribbean . In 2005, Jayro reached international
fame as one of the most popular finalists in Objetivo Fama ,
a Spanish version of American Idol . Join Images in
a tribute to this talented young man.
