William H. Turner

William H. Turner was elected to the NJN Foundation Board of Trustees in November 1997 and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Committee on Trusteeship.

William H. Turner is chairman of the Advisory Council of PNC Bank, N.A., New Jersey Region.

He joined PNC Bank in August 1997 as president of PNC Bank, New Jersey. In September 1999 he was promoted to Chairman of PNC Bank, N.A., New Jersey and Northeast Region with responsibilities for New York, Connecticut and Naples, Florida.

Prior to joining PNC Bank, he was president and co-chief executive officer of Franklin Electronic Publishers, Inc.

From 1962 to 1996, Turner worked for Chemical Banking Corporation, which merged with Chase Manhattan Corporation in 1995. Turner held a number of key management positions at Chemical, including chief administrative officer of the corporate banking division and executive vice president and head of the retail banking division. In 1990, he was named vice chairman and director of the corporation, responsible for Chemical's regional banking activities, which included real estate, private banking and commercial and consumer business in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. Turner retired as a vice chairman of Chase Manhattan in 1996.

He serves as a director of Franklin Electronic Publishers, Standard Motor Products, Inc., Volt Information Sciences, Inc. and New Jersey Resources.

Active in the community, Turner is chairman of Atlantic Health System, chairman of the International College of Beirut, chairman of the New Jersey Network Foundation, vice president of the Montclair Art Museum, treasurer of the Montclair Foundation, treasurer of the Montclair Golf Club and secretary of the Paterson Economic Development Corporation. He is a trustee of Trinity College.

He received a bachelor of arts degree from Trinity College in 1962 and a master's of business administration from New York University in 1966. He also has attended the Aspen Institute and completed the Advanced Management Program of the Harvard Business School.
