Brian J. Dunlap
Brian J. Dunlap is an accomplished Sales, Marketing and Business Development Executive with a proven career in the financial services, communications, homeland security, and high tech industries. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer for CIT Group, a leading global commercial finance company and a member of the S&P 500 and the Fortune 500 with more than $70 Billion in managed assets. Mr. Dunlap joined CIT in 2004 as the Executive Vice President of Sales, Global Vendor Finance and became the Chief Sales Officer for CIT’s Global Major Relationships Vendor Finance Division.
Prior to joining CIT, Mr. Dunlap was the founding Executive Director of the New Jersey Business Force www.njbusinessforce.org , a homeland security public / private partnership program spearheaded by Business Executives for National Security Inc. (BENS). Under Mr. Dunlap’s leadership the New Jersey Business Force became the model for the nation on public / private partnerships combating terrorism, was recognized by the US Department of Homeland Security as best–in-class, and was expanded to six states.
From June 2000 to December 2002, Mr. Dunlap held executive positions in Lucent Technologies’ $3.5B Optical Networking Group business where he was Vice President of Sales and Product Market Management for North America and Vice President of Global Marketing and Metro Networks. From October 1997 to June 2000, he worked for GE Capital as Senior Vice President, Marketing and E-Business, Telecom Vendor Financial Services. Prior to GE Capital, he held senior level positions at AT&T, Lucent, and Bell Laboratories.
In September 2008, Mr. Dunlap was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for New Jersey Public Broadcasting, Inc. and is a member of the Foundation’s Development Committee and Vice Chair of the Corporate Advisory Committee. In 2005 he was elected to the State Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of New Jersey, Inc. and is a member of the Investment Committee and the Marketing Task Force Committee. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Freedom House, Inc. as Chair of Development and Fundraising, and previously served on the Board of Trustees of Essex County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).
Mr. Dunlap is a 1995 graduate of the Program for Executives at Carnegie Mellon University. He holds an AAS in Electromechanical Technology from Union County Technical Institute, a BS in Electronics Technology from Thomas Edison State College, and a Masters of Management Science in Management Information Systems from Stevens Institute of Technology.
