Dennis Baldassari

Dennis Baldassari has served on the NJN Foundation Board of Trustees since 1993 and currently chairs the Finance Committee. He was is a past President and Chief Operating Officer of GPU Energy (formerly JCP&L) elected to those positions in February 1992, having been a vice president of JCP&L since 1982. Baldassari joined the GPU System in 1968 as a student trainee at Metropolitan Edison Company and was assigned in 1971 to General Public Utilities Corporation (GPU), parent company of JCP&L and Met-Ed. He arrived at JCP&L in 1979, when he was elected secretary-treasurer. He also devotes many hours to professional, business and community organizations. He serves on the board of directors of First Morris Bank and is a past chair and co-chairman, respectively, of the Jersey Shore Partnership and New Jersey 2000 Advisory Committee. Baldassari also serves on the boards of several educational and charitable foundations. A native of Pottstown, Pa., Baldassari holds a bachelor of science degree in commerce and engineering from Drexel University, where he majored in finance.
